New cartoon cards from The New Yorker

At the Comedy Card Company, we are huge fans of New Yorker cartoons. The famous The New Yorker magazine is noted for its satirical sense of humour and some of their cartoons are true classics that stand the test of time. For example, the expression 'back to the drawing board' came from a New Yorker cartoon in the 1940s about a engineer and a crashed plane. A cartoon showing two dogs, one of whom is on a computer, turns to his friend and says 'On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog' is possibly the most famous New Yorker cartoon, certainly the most reprinted.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of some new cards from The New Yorker range. This is the first release of new designs in a couple of years. One of our favourites has to be this one showing a business meeting that hasn't managed to achieve anything, but they reassure themselves that this is exactly what meetings are for!

We also love this cartoon showing a man demonstrating his vinyl hifi system to a friend, remarking that it was the great expense and inconvenience that drew him to vinyl!

Or how about this cartoon showing a man trying to schedule a meeting, suggesting that 'never' would work well! Classic satire from New Yorker.

Among the long time favourite cards, this cartoon showing Noah's Arc suffering after taking on a pair of woodpeckers has to be one of the most popular.

Another classic cartoon shows Lassie on a psychiatrists's couch, in therapy after failing to rescue his owners.

A more recent cartoon shows a man who is wearing the type of post surgical collar a dog might wear after a visit to the vets. On this occasion, the collar is to try and stop the man checking his phone constantly. I think we all know someone who would benefit from wearing one of those!

These are just a few of our favourites amongst the new releases and the classic cartoons. Take a look at the whole range and laugh like a New Yorker!
